Cheryl Goodwin

I am a mother of three children, who are all grown adults now. I began my career in early childhood when I attended Solano Community College working towards a teaching degree. I volunteered at the Child Development Centre on campus for my youngest child to attend the program while I worked on my degree. My original intention was to become a kindergarten teacher, but once I started working with younger children, I felt I found my calling. While attending school full-time, I had an in-home daycare on Travis AFB. Our family was then moved to Nellis AFB, in Nevada; and then Cannon AFB, in New Mexico where I was a two-year-old teacher for 9 years. I finished my Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education at Eastern New Mexico University. We then transferred to Randolph AFB, here in the wonderful state of Texas, where I took a position with the State of Texas as a Child Care Licensing Inspector. I regulated over 90 daycares in and around the San Antonio area for 6 years. I then took a position with Pinnacle Montessori as the director of the Bulverde location, while I waited for the new Schertz location to be operational. I am currently at my school in the Schertz area and love the families that we serve every day.
