Elementary School of Fair Oaks

The Elementary Class

The brightly lit, beautifully designed Elementary classroom features large windows that allow children a firsthand view of nature while they are engaged in classroom activities. The Elementary classroom is comprised of a multi-age group of students 6 to 9 years of age, including first, second, and third grades.

The elementary years mark an important stage of academic growth, where students begin developing essential time management and organizational skills. Children become increasingly responsible for completing their assigned work, with guidance from their teachers to ensure they understand each lesson and complete it successfully. Dr. Maria Montessori believed that students should first experience success before learning one of life’s most valuable lessons: how to learn from failure. In this setting, “failure” may simply mean not completing a lesson on time. The goal is to introduce concepts gradually, one step at a time, so children are not overwhelmed. The concrete subjects they mastered in their earlier years become the foundation for abstract thinking, deeper reasoning, and more advanced learning.

What Parents Need to Know

During the elementary years, from first through third grade, students mature physically, emotionally, socially, and academically. The Montessori curriculum provides a strong educational foundation that benefits children throughout their future academic journey and beyond.

Imagine your child graduating from Pinnacle Montessori Elementary and moving on to their next educational adventure. They will be well prepared academically while also possessing the invaluable skill of time management. Through the Peace Curriculum, students learn how to navigate social situations, resolve conflicts respectfully, and build positive relationships with others. They also develop strong research skills, learning not only how to find answers but also to appreciate the joy of discovery and lifelong learning.

Students leave the Elementary program with the confidence to work independently as well as collaborate effectively with classmates on group projects. These are lifelong skills that often are not introduced until much later in traditional educational settings.
